"I think the Bulletizer is terrific ... for SM57 and 545 users, the Bulletizer is a must have .."
Kinya Pollard, "The Harpsmith", Musician and Harmonica Craftsman, and Harmonica Masterclass Instructor.

"I got my Bulleteizer from the postal service today. It certanly made the 545 "bigger" sounding and much better to hold. It was also the first time I could use my mic without getting cramps in my fingers in the 3rd set."
Arne "Arnenym" Hedberg, Sweden

"The Blues Harp Amps Blog gives a very enthusiastic thumbs up to the Bulletizer."
Rick Davis, Blues Harp Amps Blog

If you use a Shure 545 or SM57, you're not alone. These are wonderful harmonica mics and are in wide use. However their small diameter can make holding and cupping them uncomfortable. Over the last few years I've had many customers ask "Can you fit an SM57 or 545 element into one of your wood shells?"

The answer is no - the cartridge of these mics is about as long as a typical bullet shell's outside dimension, and then there's a transformer (located in the barrel of the standard mic) and the connector that have to be accommodated.

The Bulletizertm is the solution. It gives you a larger surface to grasp and cup, and provides an acoustic chamber inside your cup to bring out the best of the mic's tone. You can even "tune the tone" by varying the position of the mic inside the shell.

The Bulletizer's outside diameter is 2 inches, making it very easy to cup, even if you have small hands. By comparison, a JT30 is 2.35 inches in diameter.

The Bulletizer is easy to install and remove, and fits very securely on your mic. To achieve this I machine each one in my own shop, to very close tolerances for an exact fit. For this reason it does not fit other microphones. It fits Shure SM57, Beta 57 (not Beta57A), 545, 545SD and PE54, and BlowsMeAway Ultimate versions of these mics.

Convert a great mic into a REALLY GREAT mic

I'm not really a harmonica performer. Basically still learning after two years. But one of my favorite tools in the toolbox is my Shure SM-57, which I mount on a boom attached to my vocal mic (a 55SH) when I'm accompanying myself on an acoustic uke or guitar, or playing a harp solo. I figured the SM-57 would make a fine harp mic (hey ... I've seen and heard the great RJ Mischo use an SM-57), with a little tweaking. The Bulletizer is just that tweak. Feels great in the hands, and makes for a wonderful sound through the amp. High quality from Greg Heumann at BlowsMeAwayProductions, with easy installation per nicely-done written instructions. (Greg even includes a wooden chopstick for seating the gasket without tearing it, and a tiny just-the-right-size Allen wrench.) At the same time I ordered the Bulletizer from Rockin' Ron I also ordered one of Greg's In-Line XLR Volume Controls (for low impedance mic), converting my SM-57 into a really fabulous set-up. While harmonica players will love modifying an SM-57, my main use with this new set-up has been for acoustic instruments I play in the pit band for a cabaret show, where for our holiday extravaganza this past weekend I played everything from banjo ukulele to triangle. The Bulletizer makes the SM-57 a bit more directional (and even, perhaps, "punchier"), and having my own volume control on the mic relieves our tech crew of a lot of headaches during the show. Buy either or both of the Bulletizer and the XLR In-Line Volume Control from Rockin' Ron, and you get not only Rockin' Ron's great customer service, but you also support the quality USA-made work Greg does at BlowsMeAwayProductions. (PS: The Bulletizer also fits the It fits Shure's Beta 57, 545, PE54, Greg's "Ultimate" versions of these mics.)
