Additional comb info:
Black plastic (PMMA acrylic) combs that are individually flattened by hand - by me.
That flatness improves airtightness, tone, and response beyond any stock comb.
The tine tips are polished to gloss for comfort and playability, and the sides and back are left matte for a secure grip. Nobody wants to hold a harmonica that feels like a slippery jellyfish.
The mirror finish on the front of each comb is achieved using a method I developed and refined that is both food safe and earth friendly. The result is a permanent, naturally smooth, glassy surface that feels like candy in your mouth.
While some other comb finishing processes rely on petroleum-based polishing compounds, solvent carriers, or metal oxide abrasives, my approach is built around achieving the finish without depending on those materials. This avoids the risk of unwanted residues remaining embedded in the acrylic, even after thorough cleaning.
These combs are built to last a lifetime, very likely longer than the harmonica itself. If you ever do need to dispose of one, the material is fully recyclable where facilities exist.
