I purchased a Soloist and Mars after seeing Brian’s You-Tube review.. I was surprised to see him switch his brand of harps after playing them for so many years. I was intrigued as to what would make him do so, so I thought I’d give them a try to see what he was raving about. I have harps from ALL the different brands out there, but I have always gone back to my favorite.. BUT.. This one was different than all the others.. They were comfortable on my lips and the bright tone generated was amazing.. Of the two, I prefer the brighter tone emitted from the Soloist with the aluminum comb rather than the Mars with the plastic comb. I liked them so much I purchased the other 11 keys to complete a set of all majors. My first night out playing them. The lead guitarist turned to me and said .. “I'm not sure what you’re doing differently tonight, but Damn, you’re tone seems so much brighter!” I told him it’s the new harps.. Aluminum combs. It was nice knowing that the brighter tone was noticed by other professionals as well. I've been playing these for 2 years now and haven't had a single problem with any harp yet. I love em! (The Mars was more comfortable on the lips than the soloist, but I liked the tone better with the aluminum comb, so now that they're making the Mars with an aluminum comb, I think I'm gonna try the Mars with the aluminum comb to see how it compares to the soloist.. )
