First of all Ron’s has provided great customer service.

The harmonica is running to look at compared to a typical harmonica. Fit and finish seems excellent. The harp has a very crisp tone (to my ears) and almost sounds like an equal temperament when playing solo. Which I prefer compared to some of the just tuning harps that sound muddled ( like hohner rockets)
The lightning has open backing which can play loudly if you need it but is also very responsive light playing also. when I first got it i could actually wry lightly blow on the reed holes which out placing my lips on the comb and still get a tone.
The weight of the harp is definitely substantial but I think I actually prefer it as it minimizes hand unsteady hand movements.

The harmonica design definitely is a facial hair puller every now and then. I have noticed that the reed become noticeable less responds e within minutes of playing to the point of choking. It almost seems the harmonica is built so air tight that anything temperature changes or breath condensation slows down/stops reed response. will give it another week or so and if it doesn’t self correct mah ha e to contact Seydel regarding it in for a warranty service. Which would reduce my rating considering the price of the harmonica is top of the line.

Very nice harp! Sounds and plays great, does bends and vibratos, etc with ease.
Only complaint is that it is a bit of a hair plucker. It appears to be cut and assembled so precisely that where the metal edges come together causes a sharper groove and so plucks hair very efficiently. I did what any dedicated harp player would do and shaved.
Worth it!!! Great harp!!!

I stepped up to the Lightning after seeing interviews by Roly Platt and watching his endorsement of this model. Everything he says about his style of playing and quality of this harp is spot on. It is a STUD piece of art. As time goes on I see myself completing a full set of classics and lightnings. Rock on!!!
