The 1847 Silver- corrosion-free Richter-diatonic harmonica with stainless steel reeds.

The 1847 Silver impresses by its unprecedented visual appearence but also by new technical features.

  • Besides the reeds and the rivets the cover plates and reedplate screws are made of Stainless Steel.
  • Reedplates made of non-corrosive German Silver.
  • Solid polymer comb

Well known features of the 1847 CLASSIC were transferred to the 1847 Silver:

  • Less air-loss due to fine-cut reedplates - optimised flatness and extremely small tolerances between reed and reedplate
  • Beard- and lip-friendly coverplates with rounded edges without any cuts at the mouthpiece. Closed side vents
  • The overtone-rich sound can spread out unhindered - covers opened wide at the back and crimped and therefore a good stability and rounded edges

Great harps

I really like my set of Seydel Silver 1847’s. They blow and draw easy, and I am a fan of the sound coming from silver reeds.
I have other brands and sets, some of which are more favorably used for practice.
But when I’m jamming with others, I rely on my Seydel to get the job done.

So glad you are happy!

Love My Seydels

I forgot to mention in my other write-up/review that I have yet to replace a reed plate in my Seydels. Replace two in my Suzuki's before playing mostly my Seydels and the phosphorus Bronze are supposed to last better than the brass reed plates used in most other harps.

Thanks for your business

Seydel 1847 silver (white comb) Key of G

I have 4 seydels of this model. They play well and are responsive out of the box. My only complaint is that I have to adjust the covers where they meet the reed plate. The covers tend to pinch my lips a little bit. I wouldn't mention it but I don't have this problem on far cheaper harps, but they don't really play as well as the 1847.

Thanks for your review and for your business.

nice harp

Plays well out of the box with good tone. Since I'm generally a Hohner guy, it takes a little getting used to the slightly larger hole spacing.

Thanks for this nice review.
