New Promasters

Just came back from the weekly jam at a local assisted living facility. Took my new Suzuki Promasters in keys of G, A, C, and D. I’m moving up from the Bluesmasters (which I love) and wanted to try a Suzuki with the aluminum comb. Got four in the most used keys and these puppies played beautifully (chords, fills, solos). I have my special 20’s for less used keys, but let me tell you, these phosphor bronze reeds with aluminum combs are sweet. Just love these Promasters, Thanks Ron.

Real Quality

While my kit is primarily Hohners, having bought one of Suzuki's "Hammond Organ" HA-20 harps from Rockin' Ron some years ago (a C), I was curious about its close cousin, the Promaster. So bought this one, the MR-350 in A. And I really like it. The aluminum comb gives it a very solid feel in the hands; the rounding of the comb and cover corners makes holding the harp very comfy; while not as beveled as the holes on, e.g., the Hohner Rocket, the holes are still very comfortable, as is the entire comb; the harp is very airtight; responsiveness is great; and while I believe that the tuning is not as compromised as Rockets, Marine Bands, etc., and perhaps closer to Lee Oskars, chords still sound nice. Finally, at basically the same price as the Hohner Rocket, the overall quality of the Promaster really stands out as a great value.
